Devil May Cry 5
Game Description:
Today at Gamescom, Capcom showed new gameplay footage of Devil May Cry 5 and confirmed a release date — March 8, 2019 — for Nero and Dante’s next adventure. The company also revealed new details about Devil May Cry 5’s gameplay, specifically around Nero’s “Devil Breakers.”
Devil Breakers are mechanical arms, crafted by Nero’s ally Nico, that grant the demon slayer special powers. There are eight standard Devil Breakers, Capcom said, including the Overture, an electrified arm that shocks enemies, and the Gerbera, which generates intense heat that can be shot out in a powerful shockwave. As seen in the gameplay trailer above, Nero’s arms also let him snatch enemies with a grappling hook and surf through the air on his rocket-powered limb.
Naturally, Nero still has his Red Queen sword and Blue Rose handgun at his disposal for more traditional Devil May Cry action.
Finally, Dante makes a brief appearance in Devil May Cry 5’s new trailer, brandishing a fancy new weapon of his own: his motorcycle. Dante’s bike isn’t just a means of transportation; it can also be split in half and used as a pair of chainsaw-like melee weapons. Neat!
Devil May Cry 5 is coming to PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One next year. Some new screens are in the gallery below.
